Mizon AHA & BHA Daily Clean Toner | Review

Ah, come diamine si fa a scrivere una recensione, quando ormai questo prodotto verrà tolto dal mercato? Mi sono imposta di scriverla subito, in modo che voi possiate prenderlo fin quando siete ancora in tempo! Mi fa molta rabbia che due fantastici prodotti di una linea che uso da quasi due anni (ogni volta che arriva il caldo) vengano discontinuati... Più che per questo toner -di cui esiste già la versione rinnovata- Sono triste per il peeling serum...

How can I even write a review, if I know that this toner will be discontinued? I really put myself on a rush to write this review, because I wanted you to read it before it was impossible to find it online, so you would be able to stock up on it lol. I am really disappointed, because I've used many products from this line for two years (they are a must for me everytime it gets hot)...but most of all, I'm sad because of the peeling serum....

La prima volta che sentii parlare di  questo toner fu grazie ad una collega blogger, Sample Hime, che l'aveva acquistato ma, a causa di un batch contaminato, molti di questi toner erano inutilizzabili e blahblah. Al contrario della carissima Benton, che ha letteralmente cagato il cazzo coprendo il suo errore, minacciando denunce e facendo finta di nulla ( motivo per cui ciao Benton ), Mizon prontamente lo tolse dal mercato e per un bel po' lo si trovava online solo a prezzi maggioratissimi...Stessa cosa successa con il MRCS di Sum:37 e come succederà anche ora con questo toner lol. Poi, è tornato a grande richiesta, visto che si è diffusa la moda degli acidi e dei peelig chimici (lo dico senza sarcasmo), e, ovviamente l'uso di toner con ph leggermente acido o neutro per bilanciare il film idropilico della pelle. Il toner di Mizon rientra in questa categoria!
Andando al succo della cosa, un toner indicato come "AHA/BHA toner" idrata ed esfolia. I benefici del AHA & BHA Daily Clean Toner di Mizon sono tantissimi, difatti è uno dei miei toner preferiti insieme a quello di Klairs. Non mi voglio soffermare sul packaging, che è una normale bottiglia di plastica con del liquido dentro, perchè mi voglio dilungare sul prodotto in sè.
Mizon ce lo presenta come un toner che combina AHA(Alpha Hydroxy Acid) e BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) per rimuovere le cellule morte e donare lucentezza alla pelle.

The first time I heard about this toner was thanks to a collegue blogger, Sample Hime, that had purchased it, but the product came contaminated because it was part of a failed batch. Differently from Benton, that has never apologized or done something for his mistake, beside threathening bloggers (that's why I said bye bye to Benton ), Mizon stopped selling it for some time, so that you could only find the toner at huuuge prices online. Somehow, with the huge new trend of taking care of the PH of the skin and the use of chemical exfoliators, this toner became very appreciated and veeery requested. Then, finally, it was back in stock and everyone was happy!
To sum up, a toner labeled as AHA/BHA toner, exfoliates and hydrates the skin, and it's perfect in combo with peeling serums with higher percentage of aha or bha, or both. I don't want to talk about things that I haven't study, since I'm not a chemist or a doctor, but this is the basic you should know.
Obviously I'm not going to talk about the packaging, which is a normal plastic bottle, because I want to talk about the product. Mizon introduces this toner as composed as perfect balance between AHA /alpha Hydroxy Acid) and BHA (beta Hydroxy acid) to remove dead skin cells andbrighten the skin.

Cosa fa questo toner? In primis esfolia con delicatezza la pelle (avendo Aha e bha), togliendo sia le cellule morte, che pulendo i pori dall'interno. Facendo ciò, oltre alla rimozione della pelle morta, che è sempre una cosa positiva, lavora anche sulla texture della pelle, in quanto la grana diventa poco a poco più liscia e compatta. Ovviamente usandolo da solo non aspettatevi miracoli; dovete usarlo con un esfoliante chimico (quello che voi chiamate vitamina C, ma non è vit. c...sono peeling serums, ovvero esfolianti chimici.). Il toner va usato come ultimo step della pulizia del viso, infatti fa sia da stabilizzante del ph della pelle, in modo da creare le condizioni ottimali perchè l'esfoliante funzioni, sia da booster, ovvero è un aiuto in più nell'esfoliazione. Questa esfoliazione chimica (diversa dalla meccanica, aka scrub ecc) fa bene alla pelle perchè ricompatta la grana della pelle, toglie la pelle morta, schiarisce macchie, minimizza la texture delle cicatrici, aiuta con le rughe e la pelle spenta. Come ho detto, non è un toner miracoloso, si suppone voi lo usiate con un esfoliante chimico, a meno che non lo vogliate usare da solo perchè non avete problemi particolari alla pelle.

Come lo uso? Semplicemente, lo applico mattina e sera dopo essermi lavata e struccata, prima del mio esfoliante chimico. Adesso che scrivo è estate, quindi lo sto usando insieme al peeling serum della stessa linea, seguito poi da tutta la mia skincare usuale. Preferisco applicarlo con un dischetto di cotone (dal lato esfoliante) in modo da fare anche una leggerissima azione di esfoliazione meccanica.


What does this toner do? In primis it exfoliates mildly the skin (since it contains Aha and Bha), swiping away dead skin cells, and degunking dirty pores. As it does so, besides removing dead skin -that it's always a positive thing - it also works on the skin's appearance, because the skin's texture slowly becomes smoother  and firm. Don't expect miracles, because it must be used with a peeling serum, a chemical exfoliator that will give you visible results. A toner is considered the last step of the everyday cleansing regimen, that's why this toner is basically balancing the skin after cleansing, helping your skin to absorb the next skincare product better (in my case, the next acid ). Chemical exfoliation (different from the mechanic, such as scrubs etc) is good for your skin because it helps improving the skin texture, removes dirt and dead skin, minimizes pores and scars, lightens dark spots or marks, and it helps to prevent wrinkles and brighten dull skin. As I said, this toner can be a booster for a peeling serum, but don't expect it to be as efficient all by itself.

How do I use it? I simply apply it in the morning and at night, after I took off my make up. Now that I'm writing this review is Summertime, so I'm using it with the Mizon peeling serum from the same line, followed by my usual skincare routine. I like to apply it with an embossed cotton, and use the textured side.

Perchè lo uso? Perchè è idratante ed esfoliante (avendo aha), ed avendo io sia acne, sia pelle secca, lo trovo perfetto. Chi ha pelle sensibile deve stare attento ai prodotti che usa, e questo toner è adatto anche alle pelli sensibili. E' inoltre ormai un'abitudine, per me, utilizzare quasi sempre dei toner che stabilizzino il ph della pelle, sia perchè così posso sperimentare con struccanti e saponi che non hanno proprio un ph neutro, sia perchè permettono un migliore funzionamento dell'esfoliante chimico che metto dopo... Che può essere quello della stessa linea di Mizon, ma che può essere anche un altro esfoliante a mia scelta.  Nei periodi caldi dell'anno, riduco la concentrazione degli acidi, passando dal Vitamin C1.5 advanced serum al peeling serum di Mizon, poichè fa troppo caldo e sono fotosensibilizzanti, vanno usati con cautela. Riducendo gli acidi, aggiungo un toner esfoliante (questo, praticamente)! Altrimenti, d'inverno, vado di toner Klairs tutta la vita.

Chi lo può usare? Al contrario degli acidi, che NON servono a tutti, questo toner va bene per tutti i tipi di pelle. Secondo me, però, se avete una pelle che accetta di tutto, e non avete nessuna delle esigenze elencate sopra (antirughe, macchie, pelle spenta ecc), potete tranquillamente divertirvi a sperimentare con altro. Allo stesso tempo, però, questo toner è comunque un prodotto consigliato a prescindere. Se avete pelle sensibile, secca e tendente all'acne (o ne avete sofferto) è il toner perfetto per voi. E' adatto alle pelli sensibili perchè è delicato, sicuramente più delicato di uno scrub, e non arrossa o irrita la pelle. Per via della presenza di AHA, noti per avere ANCHE proprietà umettanti, il toner è anche adatto alle pelli secche. Per via della presenza di BHA è invece adatto a pelli grasse e miste, perchè pulisce i pori eregola la produzione di sebo nelle zone più critiche, senza seccare.
E' un toner adatto a chi vuole migliorare il tono della pelle, sia perchè illumina, sia perchè schiarisce macchie da acne, macchie solari e piccole cicatrici (per via dell'esfoliazione). Per quanto riguarda rughe e cicatrici...eh! E' un toner, non la Madonna di Fatima; dovete usarlo con un esfoliante chimico per vedere risultati evidenti. L'utilizzo di questo toner migliora davvero l'aspetto generale della pelle.


Why do I use it? Since I suffer from acne and dehydrated skin, this toner, being moisturizing and exfoliating atthe same time, is perfect for me. Moreover, sensitive skins always have to pay attentionsto what they use, and I like this toner because it's also good for delicate skins. For me it's an habit to use toners that balance the ph level of my skin, so that I can experiment with less mild foams and oils, but also because the chimical exfoliants work better after. In the hottest days of the year, I reduce the percentage of chemicals I use, because they're not meant to be used during summer (bc of the warmth), so I use a serum with a lower percentage of aha/bha and I add, instead, a toner like this Mizon one.

Who can use it? This toner is okay for all skin types, but, in my opinion, if you have super resilient skin and no major problems, you could easily skip this toner and experiment with other things. With this, I don't want to say that this is a bad product, on the contrary, it's really highly recommended in general. If you have dry skin, acne prone skin (or you suffered from acne), or sensitive skin, this toner is for you. It's a good product for sensitive skins because it's milder than a scrub to exfoliate. It's also good for dry skins because AHA are known for their humectants properties too. Oily skin will also love it, because it regulates excess sebum and BHA degunks all the dirt in your pores, clearing the skin from blackheads. It should also help with wrinkles, and it's good to brighten your skintone. I'm not saying that this toner is a miracle in a bottle, because...it's not Jesus, y'know! It's a really good toner, that in combo with a peeling serum, will really change your skin. Overall, my skin always feels good, hydrated and healthy after I use it, so I really don't want to give up on this one T^T.
