eyeliner Set

Clio Professional is famous for their gelpresso eye pencil, eye pencils in gel in a retractable pencil form. Clio was the first to release this kind of product for the large public, and thanks to their famous (and gorgeous) testimonial, Lee Hyori, they soon become a well known best sellers.
Very often Clio releases some pencil sets, useful if you travel a lot but also if you want to try them before purchasing them. Their formulation is the same of the full size pencil, but they're tinier.
This set I'm going to show you is the Color Of the 2014 set, inspired by the color Radiant Orchid.
Their mini set always come in a metal box . The eyeliners, as I said, have the same formulation but their packaging is sleek and tiny, perfect to bring wth you if you travel. Since They're cute, I love to collect these kind of sets!
Secondo me è davvero un effetto elegante.
There are two finish for the gelpresso pencils, most of them are semi matte or shimmer. Depending on the finish, they apply and performance very differently, that's why i will review them one by one.
Basically the semi-matte formula is the easier to apply, even though since they are in a gel form, during the colder time of the year they need to be warmed up with the warmth of the hand before using them. The more you layer, the more the colour won't be patchy...the more yu warm up the pencil, the more it will be easy to applyit.
Gelpresso with shimmers are a very unique thing; basically I think that western glitter pencils aren't that great, not as their korean cousins. The most important characteristic for me is that the glitters don't fall down and they are visible once apply on the lid. These pencils are creamier than other glitter pencils but there can be some difficulties on the application because there are a lot of shimmers in the gel formula, and the colours aren't that vivid. The base for the glitters is really sheer, it's just a hint of color. One thing that i really like is that clio pairs really well the colors of the shimmers and the base color of their pencils, I think it's a really elegant effect.
Frozen Lavender is more like a taupy mauve instead of a lavender, and it's a very rare color. Even if it's not my favorite, I think it's an unique shade. It glides on easily and uniformely. It's one of the two matte shades in the set.
2014 Orchid should be the closest shade to pantone's Radiant Orchid shade, but they kinda failed in my opinion. it's not completely matte, but it's almost satin like, because it has a lot of blue/purplish reflects on a purple shade. It has not glitter, but it's really a luminous shade to wear.
Blackish Orchid is the other matte shade in the set. it's a blackish purple, really dark, but not enough for being considered a plain black. It's the hardest in consistency and really hard to blend and to apply.
More swatches under natural light:
This is to catch the shining particles in the two glittery pencils. The pic is made under direct natural sunlight, and I think it makes clear how shiny these pencils are.
Overall, these pencils are great. Gelpresso in general are great in color pay off , availability of shades (mostly glittery) and wearing time. They are waterproof and smudge proof which I adore because if I want to wear something glittery and I want a simple sharp liner or even a simple detail, I know these are the pencils I'll pick. The ones in these set are really beautiful shades, and I love these kind of colors, so for my taste they are perfect. Even though i don't like Blackish Orchid, I still must admit that it's useful because you always need a dark pencil, and the purple component is not that evident so I can use it as "black". Another thing that I like is that they are retractable and there is no need to sharp them. The most important difference between them and the Jewel Light waterproof eyeliner is in the range of shades (Jewel Light come just in 3 glitter shades) and in the formulation...Jewel Light waterproof pencils are often creamier but less long lasting, even though they resist VERY well to the water. Colorbucket's colorpop pencils are creamier than the two said liners, but they tend to lose glitters easily and they smudge a little bit too patchy on the lid, and I wouldn't suggest them for oily lids. I still would suggest Clio's gelpresso which I consider the best gel liners on the market at the moment between all the kinds I've used/tried.

Shine Lavender is a lilac on a very sheer base with lots of platinum glitter. It spreads easily, but in the picture does not look very uniform because it is very light and glittery, it has not exactly a great color pay off. It will not be as vibrant as color, but I think it's a very elegant pastel lilac and I like a lot the effect it gives, even for illuminating the eye. It looks very grainy, but it's nott bothering when you apply it; you just have to insist a bit 'to get a clear color.

Bloody Purple is a fantastic shade in my opinion, a really beautiful burgundy with a lot of red in it, emphasized by the red, violet and gold glitters in it. It doesn't glide on as smoothly as I wish (it's really difficult to obtain a uniform color) but it's not harsh on the skin.

Here i tried to take them off with a foaming cleanser and then micellar water, just to show how longlasting they are |
