cc cream
22/03/15 • by Angiu Dantes
Ciao ragazze!
I guess you're already familiar with CC Creams, right?
For those who don't know, CC cream is the acronym of "Color Control" or "Color correct"; they are indeed some kind of tinted moisturizers enriched with some benefic ingredients. While BB creams, that were invented to heal, cover and protect damaged skins, have way more coverage and they are a tiny bit more hydrating, CC creams were born for aestethic purposes. As their name say, they lean more into base/primer products, with way less coverage and more skintone correcting stuff in it.
Even though nowadays the difference between the two type of creams have become hard to tell, CC creams are still not focused on cover, but on correcting the skin texture.
The Banila Co. It Radiant CC Cream it's really famous in Korea, also because (as you already know) they love bright glossy skin, and they also love whitening products. An old statistic said that this CC cream went sold out every five minutes. Banila introduces this cc cream as a multifunctional effect product with whitening and moisturizing properties and of course, it's also a color correcting base that - as the name suggests- is supposed to brighten dull skintones. It has Spft 30 Pa++. Usually the cc creams/bb creams standard quantity of product is 40 ml, but this one has only 30ml. This is not good I think, because this cc cream is also quite expensive compared to many other cc creams on the market and it has even less product. The tube is really a standard hygienic pump tube, but it looks smaller than other pump bottles I have. A pump of the product is fairly enough for the face, but if you're really light skin tone like me, you can use more pumps and manage not to look cakey because since the cc cream is almost white, it won't show up that much.

For the "moisturizing" part, I have to say that yes, this cc cream is quite moisturizing. I don't think it provides enough moisture to replace a real moisturizing cream ( and not enough sun protection to replace your sunblock.) but this makes it a really good base/primer for dry skin. Sadly it's not enough to help with dry patches, but it doesn't emphasize them, so if you mix it with a moisturizing foundation you'll be good. I think that it's more effective on winter, when the benefits to the skin are more noticeable, because I didn't feel like I needed it during summer, when my skin gets oilier. it's not a product I will define as "essential" in a makeup stash, but I guess it could help every girl that has from normal to dry skin. It's not made for oily skin, and I don't really like using it during summer because it hasn't any sebum control.
Obviously the name "Radiant" itself recalls "brightening effects". Even if it has no long term whitening effects, It has the dewy effect that i expected. We know that glossy skin in korea means Healthy skin, but here we must be careful because many times glossy means greasy. This cc cream has this glossy finish but it's not too much, it's reflective and very korean like. I guess it would be a good choice for people who like this kind of make up.
What surprised me most it's the fact that it is good as a BASE. Since it gives many benefits to the skin it's perfect as an everyday base for the makeup. It helps to improve the texture of the skin, because it hides fine lines and pores. I won't call this cc cream a real primer, because it's also a moisturizer, but I keep using it as an everyday base.
To sum up: the whitening effect is temporary, it's made because the cc cream is basically white.
it's not heavy but the coverage is zero, so you can mix it and blend it with your foundation, and the appearance it's more natural than the white cast that a sunblock leaves. It helps your foundation look more natural, and that happens with most of my base products..I haven't found one that gets ruined by this cc cream. The moisturizing effect is light, but it helps dry skin look less dull and flaky. As a color correct cream it's a lil bit of a fail, because it doesn't help hiding the redness in my skin but it improves the texture of my skin, so it's not a fail as a base product. It has no sebum control at all. It prolongs the life of my foundation during the day; if i use it as a base, it lasts at least to 6 hours whitout touch ups. Since it's "radiant" it gives a really dewy finish to your face.
Why am I doing this boring sum up?
Because honestly I think that this cc cream looks more like a skincare product than a makeup item, but it's not the best stuff you're gonna find. It's a good cc cream, and a good skincare product...but there are way better products outside for this high price. I don't want to say that this product it's not worth your money at all, but it's not necessary, and it also depends from what you're looking for/what your skin needs. I honestly would repurchase it but only to use it during winter, because I found that it's a reliable product when I don't know which base makeup I'll be doing. Generally I would suggest this product to people that love radiant and glossy finish to the skin, but don't have a lot of redness and imperfection. I also would suggest it to normal to dry skins. Remember, it's a good multitasking product, but not an excellent cc cream.

BanilaCo. It Radiant CC Cream Review

This is the first post of my sample project. I decided to use my samples in a someway useful manner, so I decided to make a first impression post and tests on the road of the many samples I receive. Just remember that these are not reviews, but first impressions.
CC CREAM
This CC cream comes in a universal color, just as many cc creams on the market. Just as it is said on the packaging, it is tinted, so it hasn't the typical whitey color of the CC Creams. Even if the sade is universal, I can say that can suit from MAC nc10 to nc25 skinotenes, also because this Cc cream is not meant to cover, but to eaven out the skin tone, so it's not really heavy weight coverage.
Texture
The texture is really lightweight but not oily. Differently from the swatches, the cream is liquid, but not runny.
Applicazione
I applied it with a flat kabuki since the texture was a little bit runny. I must admit that it's really simple to apply, and it leaves no signs at all. At first, it was like smear water on my face, and there was also a refreshing sensation that lasts a little bit. It doesn't emphasize pores, but it doesn't help to hide them if you have very large ones. I can say that the effect on the skin is really natural. I also have to say that, beside the very dewy finish, the glossyness isn't too much, the effect is not like "fake skin", but more like a natural gloss.
Finish
Once applied, the finish is incredibly dewy, but it's not unpleasant (at least for my own taste). I dusted A LOT of powder on my t-zone and my chin area because i din't want to look oily there, but with a light dust of powder on the rest of my face, the finish didn't change that much, it was still really dewy. This CC cream isn't really oily/greasy, so if you let it set on your face, the effect it gives is really natural.
Durata
I used this CC cream alone and as primer for my CC cushion. I must admit that it lasts enough time being only a cc cream. It started to smear around after 5 hours from the application only in my T-zone, but where I have ultra dry-skin it didn't move for the whole day, keeping her dewy effect.
I also used it as "primer", but of course it's not meant to be a base; it gives a light coverage that helps the cushion's coverage itself, but it's not meant to make your make up last longer. I must say that it helps to even out the skin. Don't expect a longer wearing if you use it as a primer, but used in combo with a BB cream I think it would be a good everyday base.
